Volunteering with RCC
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County. Volunteers directly contribute to the success of our agency and our ability to make our mission a reality. First, lets see which volunteer role might be best for you or your group based on interests and commitment level.
INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS
Our Individual Volunteers work in all facets of the agency: shelter services, youth services, resale, maintenance, community outreach, and more. See below to find the right opportunity for you.
All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Volunteers 14 to 17 must have parental consent on their Volunteer Application. Ages 14 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult while volunteering. Click below to explore our Volunteer Opportunities.
STEP 1: Submit a Volunteer Application by clicking to the right.
*All volunteer applicants ages 18 and older will need to pass a background check prior to volunteering.
STEP 2: Speak with RCC's Volunteer Coordinator
Once you've submitted a Volunteer Application and your background check has cleared, our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you to speak about your interest and begin to determine which volunteer opportunities could be right for you.
STEP 3: Attend Volunteer Orientation
Generally offered once a month, Volunteer Orientation covers everything you need to know to get started as an RCC Volunteer. Some opportunities require additional training - explore our Volunteer Opportunities for more details.
EVENT VOLUNTEERS
RCC hosts several community events throughout the year and needs the help of volunteers to make them a success! If you're interested in volunteering for an RCC event, submit the interest form by clicking below.
GROUP VOLUNTEERS
Groups support our mission by volunteering in our resale stores, providing meals to our clients, helping to maintain our facilities, and more. Maximum group size varies from 5-8 based on the activity.
